Welcome to 2008!!

 

This year should be a great year for local mud racers who are looking for a place to tear it up and let the mud fly!!!

 

From the guy who wants to run his ATV in a 5 lap feature,  or the guy who has a stock truck in his back yard that just  needs a carb.  To the die hard racers who have a  little extra $$$  and sponsorship for their toys!!

 

This series will consist of 10 race dates between Thunder Mountain Speedway in Center Lisle, NY and The Bump Track in Slaterville, Ny.

 

A point system will be used to determine season championship.  Cash payout and trophies awarded at each race.  ATV races are a fun class only, trophies will be awarded.

 

 


Thunder Mountain in Center Lisle, NY  offers a 150 feet mud drag.

An awesome obstacle course with plenty of mud,

Waterholes and jumps.

3 runs each vehicle, time is averaged.

Directions:

Take 38N out of Owego to redlight in Richford.

Right on 79E (approx 7 mi.) just past Broome-Tioga Motorcross Track. Take Left. Track just up hill.

 

The Bump Track in Slaterville, NY  offers an 80 feet straight line mud bog, and a great obstacle course, that is considered quite challenging!!!

Directions:

Take 34N to Van Etten.  Right on 34/96 to Candor.  Left on Mill St. to stop sign.  Straight across onto Honeypot Rd. (approx. 7 mi.)

                                         GENERAL RULES

 

1.   Helmets and neck braces are mandatory for all drivers in all classes.

 

2.  No driver will be allowed to compete if found to be under the influence of drugsOr alcohol.

 

3.  Any driver under the age of 18 will need the signature of a parent or legal guardian

 

4.  No speeding or  ’’hot-dogging’’  in the pits.  5 mph max.                                                    

 

5.  Vehicle must be in overall safe condition.  Body secured to frame, seat secured toFloor.  Stock trucks must have  functional dot seat belts, and use them.  Other classes requireHarness.

 

6.  No loose objects of any kind in the box or cab.

 

7.  No batteries in driver compartment.  Battery must be in a box or secured.  No bungees.

 

8.  Fuel tank/cell must be secured.

 

9.  Any driver that runs 2 runs within 2 sec. Of the slowest driver in the next class will be bumped a class.  Some exceptions will be decided by track officials.

 

10.  Any discrepancies of any kind will be addressed to race/track officials.  NOT Handled between  involved parties. INCLUDING FAMILY MEMBERS/ FANS.                              


STOCK  TRUCKS:

 

                Stock motor.  No after market cams, crank, intake, or carburetors.  Stock exhaust manifold, headers are ok.  Re-routing allowed as long as it is safe.

              Stock chassis.  No added bracing.   Lift kits are ok. If vehicle is street legal, some modifications will be allowed.  Any obvious “lope” in cam, or other performance modifications will be the discretion of race officials of who will be bumped to the next class.  Must have working brakes  All trucks are subject to a safety check.  Violations must be rectified before competition will be allowed.  Helmet and neck brace mandatory.

 

LIMITED MOD TRUCKS

 

          This class is for Stock trucks with “limited modifications”.  Modifications allowed for this class are as follows:  Intake, carburetor, performance exhaust, suspension upgrades, engine swaps, stock engine part swaps.  Any obvious performance upgrades that are considered “overkill  will be the discretion of track officials of who will be bumped to the next class

           

MODIFIED TRUCKS

 

           Minimum 3 point harness. Harness must be attached to roll cage.  Roll cage must be attached to frame.  Harness must have attachment brackets, no bolts through webbing.  Must have a complete cab with doors  No fuel lines through cab.  Cooling  lines run through the cab must have a metal  deflector between them and driver.  Steel driveshaft loops are mandatory for trucks lifted 6” or higher.  After market lifts, and 3 or 4 link suspension ok.  Body can be lightened or custom made.   Naturally aspirated engines, no NOS, no alcohol.. Racing fuel ok. Fuel cell Is recommended.

 

PRO TRUCKS:

 

             Minimum 5 point harness.  6 point roll cage of 1  1/2” X .120” wall  or  1 3/4” X .90” tubing..  Aluminum or fiberglass race seat.  Harness, seat and cage must all be Attached to frame.  Blowers, NOS and alcohol ok.  Cab mounted fire extinguisher mandatory.  Fire suit recommended.  Steel drive shaft loops are recommended, but are mandatory for trucks lifted 6” or higher.  Must have a rear mounted emergency cut off switch.

 

            


 

ROLL CAGES:

 

All Roll Cages will be made from 1  1/2”  X  .120” wall,  or 1  3/4”  X  .90”  tubing.  It must be attached to the frame at  4 points minimum.  Roll Bars and cosmetic bars are unacceptable.  No sharp

Edges on bends or weld areas.

 

 

 

HARNESSES AND SEATBELTS:

 

O. E.  Seat belts for stock class must be in working order.  They must be attached to the frame of Vehicle.  Harnesses must be attached to frame of vehicle in a minimum of 3 points.  No “home made”Harnesses will be allowed.  No bolts or other attachment devices are to go through the webbing at Any time.

 


MUD BOG RULES

 

STOCK TRUCKS:  Stock motor.  No after market cams, cranks, intake,

or carburetors.  Stock exhaust manifold, headers are ok.  Re-routing allowed

as long as it is safe.  Stock chassis, No lift kits.  Must have a full cab, and

working brakes. Working seat belts.  Helmet and neck brace are mandatory.

LIMITED MOD TRUCKS:  This class is for stock trucks with “limited

Carburetor, performance exhaust, suspension upgrades, Lifts, and or 3-4 link

Suspension.  Body can be lightened, but must be a full cab.  Must have working brakes and seatbelt.  Helmet and neck brace mandatory   38” Tires Max. Anything considered “overkill” will be considered by track officials to be bumped to the next class.

 

 

MODIFIED TRUCKS: Minimum 3 point harness.  Roll cage.  Harness

A T V  / 4  WHEELER RULES

 

Basic safety equipment:  Goggles, face shield, glasses.

Boots, helmet.

Kill switch recommended.

 

This  will be a 5 lap feature on a muddy course. We will only have one class, depending on number of riders.

 

If enough show we will have a utility class and a sport class, 5 lap feature each class.

 

The course for this will be established at the driver meeting.  Make sure you attend.
